  • SEO,

When you are working to optimize your website, there are a number of SEO techniques that can help you.  The first is accessibility. If your website is full of problems, nobody wants to use it, and broken websites don’t fare well on search engine results.  The things you want to avoid include broken links, slow server speed, large files causing slow download or processing, HTML and CSS that doesn’t work properly, applications that don’t work, and forms that don’t submit properly.  As one can imagine, these traits are pretty annoying on a website, and many people won’t return to a website that doesn’t function properly.
The next thing that’s important for SEO, or search engine optimisation, is the use of tags. Here, we are talking about meta tags, title tags, and URLs.  As with anything else when it comes to marketing on the web, having tags which are relevant, accurate, and compelling is the key to success with this.  Make the URL describe what’s on the page.  That is simple enough.  Also, keep it short if you can.  Limit the use of dynamic characters also.  Title tags should be simple, and should not indicate that you are about to sell someone something.  That’s important!  Non-threatening titles are very helpful here.
Next, you want to keep your information on the page simple and easy to read and use.  Use small paragraphs.  Using a key phrase can help your search engine rankings, but keep it to about a 1% level.  You don’t want to use it too many times, or SEO won’t work. Keep the content of the page extremely simple, helpful, and relevant to the page. Put the most important information first in a bundle, and then trickle down to the less important details.  Have the layout of the page be very attractive.  Many website optimization specialists and SEO Consulting companies recommend using a table to keep it neat.
There are just a few more issues that will affect your SEO efforts.  Using a site map can be a helpful tool.  Also, ensure that the content on your site is fresh and original. Duplicate content can hurt your website’s rankings big time! Optimizing your website can be a simple thing to do, but it does take a little work and effort.  Doing it right will be 100% worth every minute spent.  So follow these tips here, and figure out what works for you.  You’ll be glad you did.
