If you haven’t been to Swingers West End before, you’re missing out!
Located just off Oxford Circus, Swingers offers two nine-hole crazy golf courses plus all the faded glam of the 1920s English Riviera.
Amongst many other awesome features, Swingers also boasts four stunning cocktail bars and four of London’s best street-food vendors.
We love our clients and we love rewarding them for their loyalty even more! Our annual Christmas VIP Event always provides a perfect opportunity for everyone to socialise, relax and have some fun. We’re a competitive bunch so whilst there must always be an educational element from within the realms of digital marketing, sport always seems to finds it’s way into such occasions! This party was no different to any other, with golf playing a major part in the frivolities.
On 14th November, we were joined by guest speaker, Tina Aird of Microsoft Advertising and as we brought together a diverse group of individuals from varying employment backgrounds, her spotlight on The Business of Inclusion felt very apt.
Tina talked us through the importance of diversity in the work place. In her words, “Over 1 billion people have disabilities around the world, with many not being visible to the human eye. If a true representation of ALL people are included at the beginning of any project or idea, how different would this world look? What new industries, new art, and world-changing inventions would individuals and communities dream up, that could transform lives and living conditions?” Tina encouraged us to challenge our existing perceptions of what ‘inclusive’ meant.
Following Tina’s spotlight, we were split into teams of 4 (in each group, a mix of clients and Broadplacers) and made our way round Swingers crazy golf course. The seaside themed course was complete with a helter-skelter and big wheel – perfect for our thrill-seekers! They say the higher the funnel, the closer you get to the pin and this was 9 times out of 10 right for our crazy golfers who were putting a whole-lot of energy into the game!
At 5.45, out came the street food and gelato! Swingers put on a mouth-watering selection of platters and the choice was unreal! We had super tasty burgers from Patty & Bun, mac & cheese bites, out-of-this-world pizza from Made of Dough. Breddos baja fish and masa fried chicken tacos and the sweetest Italian-inspired gelato from Hackney Gelato.
A big congrats goes to yesterday’s winner, Peter Jacobs from Pad Creative! Gutted with our poor form, the rest of us retired to the Bandstand Bar to drown our sorrows before the grand podium presentation. All in all, it was a fabulous event – with all of the laughs and quirks you’d expect from a BP Christmas extravaganza.
Until next time…
