How Pay Per Click Works

Pay Per Click advertising or PPC is explained by its name, it is a form of online advertising where companies display adverts on various search engines and they then pay a certain amount for every click (also known as a click through) these adverts receive. These adverts take potential customers to the companies' websites and from there they can browse the products or services they offer.

PPC Online Advertising Methodology

Pay Per Click Advertising (PPC) is easy to use and it is a great way to get your business' website noticed in the market place. The basic way PPC campaigns work is by placing an advert on a search engine results page that will appear for potential customers when specific keywords or keyword phrases are searched on. When the potential visitor searches a keyword or phrase a number of relevant adverts will appear and they may then choose to click on your advert and get to your website. You only pay for your advert when a visitor clicks on it.

PPC Process

PPC ads are short and to the point and consist of a heading to catch the eye of the visitor, a short summary of your product or service, and a URL for your landing page.  Depending on the PPC search engine, you may be limited on the title and description that can be used in your ad.  Other engines are more open to the type of advertisements that can be placed on their sites.  Once you have constructed your advert you will need to decide how much you want to spend on placing it.  Most PPC ads are placed on the page via bidding where the highest bidder gets slot 1, second highest slot 2, and so on.  However, we have a number of internet marketing tools and methods in place that ensure that your account is highly targeted and relevant to the user's search. These methods often lead to cheaper Cost Per Clicks (CPCs) as many search engines reward well constructed accounts with benefits such as better positioning for the same CPCs or the same position for a cheaper CPC.

Usually your ad will appear within moments of submitting it, but there are occasions where it may take a day or two for it to show up.  It all depends on the search engine you have used.
