Why You Should Optimize Your PPC Landing Page

If you are running a pay per click advertising campaign then you need to make sure that your landing page is one of high quality and appeal to your potential customers.  You want to make sure that in addition to your website your landing page is also search engine optimized.  Believe it or not your pay per click – or PPC – campaign could fail or succeed based on the way your landing page is set up.  If you use an internet marketing service to help you optimize your website, they will tell you all about this.  You want a landing page that is going to keep your customers coming back. 

Most PPC clients do not like to put out money on building landing pages.  They do not feel that they really need more than one type.  That may not always be the case especially if they are trying to have a successful PPC Marketing campaign.  The best thing they can do is try out the different pages that are offered to them by their advertising company and then choose the best one to put into play with their campaign. This serves two purposes.  One, it keeps the cost for the PPC client and two, it shows which elements work and which ones do not. 

Another way a landing page can be tested is by the client and marketer working together to test the page using FTP server access.  The page can be loaded up onto the server and tested and then the page with the best result can be used as the final landing page for the campaign. 

The best way to tell how a landing page is working is by using web analytics reports instead of just testing out a variety of landing options.  You should make it a point to assess the back end results of a particular landing page based on the web analytics reposts.  If you notice an increased difference in traffic then you know you are doing something right and both you and your marketer will feel satisfaction.  Plus, if you are the marketer you may convince the client to spend the extra on the landing page. 

Many companies starting out on the internet today are wary about PPC Marketing campaigns.  They may not have a big budget to spend and they may avoid the landing page extras.  As long as the page they use is optimized they should see some good results.  Sometimes you have to work a little bit to get things moving in the right direction, but when it comes to PPC campaigns you may have to work just a little bit harder.
